Minutes 6 September

Minutes of the Ordinary Meeting

Present: Councillors: Leo Kolassa, Sandra Baxter, Maria Bennett, Yvonne Irving, Bob McCann, Michael Walsh and Mike Weild.

14.0 Apologies for Absence

There were no apologies received.

15.0 Members Declaration of Interest

There were no interests declared.

16.0 Public Forum

The meeting was adjourned for this item.

There were no members of public wishing to address the Council.

The meeting was reconvened.

17.0 Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the Annual Meeting held on 3 May 2022 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

18.0 Matters of Report from Previous Meeting

18.1 Formby and Little Altcar Signpost.

Members noted that there is no further update on the proposed signpost.

19.0 Planning Applications

19.1 Liverpool Road site development

Cllr Wield reported that footpaths around the development are to be upgraded as part of the agreement with Sefton Council when permission was granted for the development at Liverpool Road. The Clerk reported that the Manager for Sefton Council Highways has confirmed that the pedestrian crossing on Liverpool Road is due to be upgraded as part of the development, but at this time Highways cannot say when, only that it must be done before the development is completed.

It was reported that a resident has complained that there is no public open space on the development and has asked when will the trees be planted? Cllr Irving commented that there is emerging guidance on provision for hedgehogs in new developments.

20.0 To Discuss and Resolve the following:

20.1 To approve sponsorship for an award at the Pride of Formby awards to be held in September 2022.

The Clerk advised that a donation had been approved for the Pride of Formby event that was postponed in 2020 and it is this event that is being held now.

It was resolved to approve the sponsorship of the award.

20.2 To approve a contribution of £200 to Formby Parish Council for the real Christmas tree for the village.

It was resolved to approve the contribution of £200 for the Christmas tree.

20.3 To approve a contribution of £200 to Formby Parish Council for the Switch on event for the Christmas lights.

It was resolved to approve the contribution of £200 for the Christmas lights Switch on event.

21.0 Chairman’s Report

Cllr Kolassa reported that the Ukraine nationals have settled in Formby and have established community links. The Chairman praised the Formby Viking bollard street art and thanked Formby Parish Council for the beautiful floral displays in the village.

22.0 To Authorise Payments

It was resolved to approve the payments as listed:

23.0 Date of Next Meeting

The next Ordinary meeting of Little Altcar Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 1 November 2022 at 6.30pm.
