Members noted that a pre planning consultation was held with Formby and Little Altcar Parish Councils and the planners for the new employment site. This is an allocated site in the Sefton Local Plan and situated to the north of the existing Stephenson Way site. It is proposed to have a new traffic light junction onto the bypass to access this site and plans are expected to be submitted to Sefton Planning soon.

31.0 To Discuss and Resolve the following:

31.1 To approve a budget for the planting of trees in February and March.

Members discussed the budget for last year which was £1,280. The Clerk reported that we won’t get as many trees for the same amount of money this year as the costs have gone up. To plant in a grass verge will cost £500 – £600 and to plant in a tree pit will cost £700 – £800 per tree. The costs were provided by the tree department at Sefton Council and include manpower, tree, tree stakes and ties, and a guarantee if the tree fails to survive the first two years.

It was resolved to approve a budget of £2,800 for new trees for the next planting season.

31.2 To receive the budget expenditure to date.

Members discussed the budget expenditure, noted the bank balances and reviewed the expected expenditure for the year end.
